About Dr. Mingyi Gao

Dr. Mingyi Gao is an internationally acclaimed pianist, educator, and adjudicator, honored as a Young Steinway Artist and inducted into the Steinway Hall of Fame. She has performed and conducted masterclasses across China, Europe, and North America, sharing her expertise with audiences and students alike.

As a dedicated educator, Dr. Gao has mentored students who have achieved significant success in both national and international competitions. Many of her students have gone on to secure admissions to prestigious institutions, including Yale, Stanford University, NYU, Princeton, UC Berkeley, and UCI.

Dr. Gao is the founder of M Music Group, a nonprofit organization that provides young musicians with performance and festival opportunities at world-renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Segerstrom Concert Hall, and Lincoln Center.

Dr. Gao holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Piano Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music.
